A gentle follow up might be a good idea as some women get a lot of mail and may miss yours first time around.

That's true too, but in several threads women have commented that they get a lot of mail so a lack of response may not be rejection.
A follow up flower could settle it, if she doesn't respond to that either, move along.

I've been doing this for... ah 3 weeks now I think.
Usually every 10th person I email writes back. That is spread across 5 sites or so. Who knows what little thing in your profile makes a person choose not to respond /shrug.
Also, from talking with a few women friends that have done this online dating, I guess on average that woman get tons more mail then men. So if you emailed a lady that has a really nice picture, chances are, so did 20 other guys.
So be prepared to wait a really long time in other words:)
Because of that, I quickly learned that an email like,
"Hey, I really like your profile, if you like mine, email me back" pretty much guarantees a "no answer" :)
Instead, always pretend that the lady is going to receive 20 emails, so make yours count:) Really read her profile in detail, and think about how what she is looking for relates to you. Type it out, review it, take your time. It is a first impression.

It's possible but I think it's not probable.
This site has a pretty good format for us users to KNOW someone has sent you a note or flower and also, on top of it, to know if that was read or not, so no misunderstanding.

It depends on what you put in that first email hon..she might not be interested or maybe her interest isn't piqued enough. I don't think it's a game, I think some women just don't answer because and I know this happens with me...I don't respond to men who do not fit the criteria of what I'm searching for. Does that make me bad?? No, it just means that like you and anyone else out there, we all have certain preferences and we know what we want and don't want, why waste time by responding to someone out of a politeness or courtesy when they obviously haven't read my profile before responding to see if they meet the basic criteria. JMO
