So if you lack skill as a parent, don't you think someone could at least help you, show you instead of getting you in the back?

I get very angry when I find that kids are not being cared for properly. But I also equally angry at those who only complain to benefit themselves in receiving custody rather than working together for the good of the children.

I don't believe parenting is a skill, its an art. What you learn today is already to late to use tomorrow. You have to spend a lot of time listening to the little voice inside of you. After a while, you start doing more and more things right. And you should always watch your back. wink

What one learns today is Not always late to use tomorrow. It may be an eye opener, but a lesson learnt nonetheless.

Well, its a fact that kids don't come with directions, so in the beginning its all trial and error. But while you're learning, the children are also changing. Its like playing a game where the rules are always changing.dunno

The kids don't come with directions, but there are basics things one does for kids, ie make sure they are fed, bath, clothed, and receive lots of love, as well as disciplined apppropriately for their age.

Parenting should come from within...I always wondered if I would be a good father but once they were there I just knew. Call it instinct if you want...conversing

You knew because you drew from your inner resources, as well as the positive experiences you also had as a child.

If there are things about parenting that you question, or lack the skill in, then you can always ask someone for help. I've been taking care of children for 22 years. But always ask questions if I think I'm doing something wrong, or I'm not sure what to do. There is always something new thrown at a parent to make them ask questions.

But there are those that don't deserve to be parents. And those who deserve to be, but aren't able to have them.

So very sad the lack of consistency and the union of love that is required in raising "ARE" future.

Parenting in itself is not a easy task and one that doesn"t comes with a "how to" book.....but with out a solid ground in the begining you have a very shaky and unstable path to walk upon, and growing up in this day in age is hard enough with out the love and support that is meant to come from "home".

Are kids are are future and if this war is not fought soon and talk is not put into action are future will be nil.
