Isn't life expectancy rather on the low side in Panama? I mean they can afford to give senior citizen deductions on movies because so few get old enough to qualify - right? conversing

In Panama you'd already be venerated to have reached such a grand old age?

confused

thumbs up

Japan 82.6 79.0 86.1 (overall, male, female -
Switzerland 81.7 79.0 84.2 life expectancies)
Malta 79.4 77.3 81.3
UK 79.4 77.2 81.6
USA 78.2 75.6 80.8
South Africa 49.3 48.8 49.7

Japan is number one in life expectancy rankings, Switzerland is number 4, Malta is 21, UK is 22, USA a rather poor number 38, and South Africa makes it in at 179 out of 195 countries listed (in ye olde wicked Wikepedia)

Seems you made a good move from one country to another, Lagoona - maybe you need to now move onwards and upwards to the land of the rising sun before you fade into the sunset of your dotage! grin

Ok, I sort of answered it already though!

I am legally resident in the UK.

I'd like to live in Malta (or Gozo to be precise) for the following reasons:

1.) I am looking after my elderly parents and it's a total pain and stressful going backwards and forwards to the UK and worrying about them being ok when I am 'over there'.

2.) I met a lovely lady here (well, over 'there' in Malta) who makes me feel very happy.

3.) I've felt Malta or Gozo was the only place that was a point of reference since about 1970 and where I 'feel at home' even though it's not my home if you see what I mean! confused

4.) I'd rather be a small fish in a small pond than a tadpole in a huge lake filled with hungry pike......... I like being 'unambitious' and living a decent life without having to impress anybody but myself.

Apart from Malta?

'Home is where the heart is'; therefore I am happy to be wherever my friends and family are - location is unimportant to me but my state of mind is of supreme importance to me........... I believe I am happiest in the company of people I care about.
