The Canadian Anthem is beautiful the way it is and I agree, it should be kept ‘as is’. What I don’t get is “to keep our way of life as it is” Immigrants will enhance that way of life. Again, unless you are a Canadian Native, your family (ancestors) have made Canada a great place to live because of their contributions, in relation of their heritage, they have brought to Canada “that way of life” that your are accostumed, it has been seeded by everyone who has come to Canada and has called it ‘home’, in my opinion.

Of course I know. The belief that the United States has become "a nation of too many immigrants” is ludicrous, again, unless you are an American Native, every one else is an ‘immigrant’ same as in Canada.


I did not call you a ‘bigot’ I really don’t think you are. I merely quoted a scene of ‘real facts’ that reminded me of this thread. I have seen some of your posts and have watched the way you have expressed of your trips to Mexico. I am glad you have enjoyed them. Again, I was just surprised to see your statement.

To rewind my feelings coming to this site. I have always enjoyed coming to the Forums. I found everyone very nice and friendly. The threads are usually fun!! I welcome strong points of views. Although, I don’t enjoy seeing threads like this one. It is not fun and makes you feel unwelcome. I hope we can all say what we have to say but without hurting other people’s feelings.

That Tommy Hilfiger thing is just an internet rumour/urban legend...I saw Oprah interview him several months ago..and they cleared this all up...if you like to see for yourself...go to Oprah's website and type in Tommy Hilfiger..and all the info is there....

You know I think that we are in basic agreement in that immigration absolutely enhances the exisiting population. The diversity and growth is immeasureable, and the very fabric of our country!
But look to the future when the numbers are more sigmificant...not so much for Canada...yet...but that is the beauty of our Nation, we are very young really.

As to being native to Canada...I am...I was born here so as far as I'm concerned I am Native. My parents were too, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate my own history, and family tree...who wouldn't?

and that's what its all about...appreciation of others' families and thier own histories....
