has somebody done you wrong? have you forgiven that person already?
well, unforgiveness is like a carbon dioxide in our body..if you wont exhale it..you'd get poisoned..unforgiveness is like an umbilical cord to the past..and whatever you dont forgive, you re-live..

if you dont want that nightmare of your past ruin your future ahead, you gotta cut that cord that connects you to your past..before you can open the door to your future, you have to close the door to your past first..

why not just forgive and forget..well, yeah..easier said than done..but hey, you gotta make a choice..its a sale anyway, atleast youd be able to get rid of the thing that could be a drawback in your life ahead..and besides, everything is under God's control..only if you trust him..and besides, everyone loves a sale, dont you?

I've seen this said by a thousand people and in a million different ways. But I have yet to see anyone provide credible instructions on how exactly to go about achieving this lovely euphoric state of forgiveness.

Until the manual comes out, I'm bitter and love'n it. professor

Sorry about this Far Away,,,but there is now way I reckon this is right.

If you do not have the power to right the wrong done to you then yes,,I suppose a person must find a way of getting this terrible feeling from out and under their skin.
In otherwords,,your seeking revenge because of the ill done to you,,but cannot exact that revenge and its making you sick thinking about it.
Forgivness is the ability to forget
Yet some crimes are too henious to forget.,,that screws people up.

Having said that,,what do think the law was emplaced for.
Someone does a wrong and they are punished.

If we as a society let every nutter,,doing evil deeds to others,,off the hook this would cause anarchy.

By letting a person off the hook for doing something really bad to you and it is seen as bad by other people as well,,(thats important) then you are seen as weak and a target for bulling by not just the perpetrator but other nasty people as well.

Sometimes people have regret,,because they layed themselves open to a personal attack and chastise themselves for being so stupid.
Thats a different barrel of fish,,but equally valid to this arguement.

because all the people that have seriously tried to screw with my life have lived to regret it,,,other don't try.
This way I live in peace. I have no regrets,,no one is forgiven,,all have to pay.
Just like the law of the land.

You made good points there. thumbs up

You sort of have to wonder if the people who preach all this cotton candy sunshiney day stuff have ever really been on the receiving end of anything that bad in the first place. confused

There are some things that are unforgiveable to some people, the trick is not to become bitter - unforgiving and bitter don't necessarily have to be linked JMO -

Exactly my point,,,and also,,,sometimes they bring it on to themselves.
That the denial bit.

As men,,a personal attack can be far greater,,than an attack against a woman,,,therefore the level of reciprication raises.

Forgiveness isn't like turning ona lightbulb and turning it off,it's a process and it takes time.

ALSO,when I FORGIVE other people,I DON'T DO IT FOR the other person,I do it for myself,so I CAN BE FREE and not carry the resentment.FORGIVENESS also doesn't mean to like the other person or to understand why the person wronged me,it means and I RELEASE myself from whatever tension I HAVE from the wrong the other person has caused.

I think some people have the mistaken notion that forgiveness means saying ''it's o.k,don't do it again''.

Obviously ,it's NOT O.K to be wronged but what FORGIVENESS means to me is to say to myself.....''It's over,it's history.''

I have no problem forgiving people.. but I do remember because it's those experiences that help prevent people from doing that to you again...

Exactly...then comes the choice do we allow them to remain in our lives to wrong us again...I can say that 99% of the time now...I won't....Trial and error can be a hard teacher!!!!!!!!!!
