A question for the CS Webmaster - does anyone else find this annoying?? (14)

or is it just me... but i sort of find as a female.. that the twelve faces of asian girls surrounding the 8 faces of CS males a little offputting.. especially with all the exploitation of asian women going on out there in society. As well as the exploitation from women in countries desperate to get out and then they find a guy and next minute the guy is sending half his wages back to their family to support half the community or ends up paying for the whole family to come over and goes from one dependent to five overnight...

Also the fact that these are yet another dating site. I realise this site is free and needs advertising but does it not sort of defeat the purpose of this dating site to advertise other dating sites when we are not allowed to post names of dating sites ourselves on threads.??

Also why do us females get pics of all the females on these sights... do the men get the pics of the men????

Yep, I agree. I have been wondering the same thing...

seeing pictures of Asian women in the middle of messages etc...or down the side of posts...like right now LOL ...people might decide they look better and go check them out instead, or that the women on this site aren't as pretty...when really we don't know anything about the circumstances of those women and possible exploitation etc

And really it does seem a little silly to keep advertising other dating sites...surely it would make sense to have advertising for completmentary services, not competitive ones?

Yes I like the idea of advertising paying for everything so that I can use the site for free BUT.... I don't like the advertising that the site puts on the pages!

As frustrating as the ad content might be...the content is being determined by Google - presumably part of an agreement that allows the site to be free by allowing the advertising.

Google is picking up on the content - words in the content and placing advertising that most closely matches it - thus is likely to appeal to the users. In this case I guess being a singles site - other singles and dating and related sites feature highly in the adverts, even if it does seem a bit innappropriate....and not always right, I saw a link for 'carbon dating' earlier LOL

But on some thread the content will pick up others - eg the travel/holidays thread gets ads for travel, holidays, school hol progs. Jokes/humour gets joke sites.

Have also seen ads for gift baskets and fixing the computer and bizarely searching Aussie court records...WTF?...goodness I must be bored to actually be noticing them all

But how annoying can they possibly be?
