Now I know the IM feature was given to us to simplify things a little. But it can also be an absolute nuisance.

I clearly state on my profile that I'm involved with someone. Yet, there are still people (men) trying to IM me. This is becoming really annoying to the point that I'm thinking of disabling it. But if I do that, I won't be able to talk to my friends. This clearly shows that most people don't take the time to read one's profile.

What I'd like to know is, can I block certain people from IM'ing me without disabling it?

I don't know about disabling it, but how can you tell who it is that is messaging you? Is there something I am missing?

hmm .. Worse Goth is that quite a few peopel here have zone settings and unless they change it i cannot IM ,flower or mail !!

The IM is a pain too often. I dont know why people dont take the time to read our profiles !!!

A notification will pop up asking you to read the IM rules before opening the actual IM feature. When you go to your mailbox, go to IM requests. You'll see who's been trying to IM you.
