I've heard about it but I have never read the book nor seen the film..
I wouldn't like to be eaten by anyone... yuk!! I hope they all have diabetes just in case, they won't be able to eat sweets and I must have a huge amount of that with all the chocolat I ingest!
what I was thinking is that we are perhaps all in a cage built by ourselves, with obligations, rituals.. must do's and can't leave it because the world would crumble... or perhaps we're all having a nightmare and dreaming that we are earthlings when in fact we're probably some strange matter of some sort floating somewhere within something much bigger than whatever we know... we might be little atoms of something, with no power over our emotions or actions, pre-progrmmed to do certain things like the good cells and the bad guys in our bodies...

Yeah, maybe we all just living inside a table top?..... like this is our galaxy and we think we soooo important.......? ... See?... our world is actually Flat, we just think it`s Round cause thats as far as we can see. Oh, maybe we living inside a soccer ball? a neglected one, lying in a corner of Somethings garden?
am going to rent all 3 MATRIX films and have an all nighter on this... 
Are chickens birds? Just cause they groove around on the ground all day doesnt make them not birds, lots of birds in the wild do that too.
Chickens have character.... if they ever given the chance to show it. I once inherited 5 old (we call them fowls - grown up chickens) that were about to be slaughtered cause they weren`t laying enough eggs, and then a pet shop that was closing down offered me their chickens, and I allowed them to live a natural life out in the garden. After living in little cages all their lives, they were fascinated to discover Dirt! and to do daily Dust Baths, and to dig for worms.... They seemed to believe that they had died and gone to Heaven and that I was God!
Without entering the house they knew which room I slept in ... and every morning sat outside my window and called me. The hens clucked and the roosters crowed till I threw something at them, then knowing I was awake they gathered at the kitchen door for breakfast.....
They got to know about things like Visitors, and when anyone came visiting, all the fowls ran out to greet them, peck their clothing, their freckles on their legs, and pull their shoelaces loose (cause they looked like worms maybe?)
They all had names, with a spot of paint on their backs for identification .... like Red, Blue, Green, Purple, Black ... the rest of them had fancy hairdo`s and feathered legs so didn`t need paint ID`s.
When they one by one eventually succumbed to old age and died, the rest of them spent the day in mourning, only leaving the body when the sun went down. When a hawk took one they would lead me to the scattered feathers to show what happened. When a civet cat attacked them in their night cage, they refused to re-enter the cage and huddled at my back door demandig safer living conditions.
Oh yes, they are full of personality .... when given a chance in life.

that I have heard of plants subjected to having parts cut or harmed in some way secreting some chemicals similar to those produced in the human body when in pain.
And then I stop eating and die
... not.
I am a carnivore and will no doubt turn into prey somewhere in no-human-lands.
Just care how you do things without unnecessary cruelty.
