do their ideas just influence people to think about things differently. Here is a look at a couple:

Jules Verne wrote his "20,000 Leagues under the sea" before the concept of submarines was invented.

J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" books give all kinds of fanciful tales, but Harry's "Cloak of invisibility" is not so far away from the things I am working on now.

Perhaps the creative minds of the science fiction writers have tapped into a universal source of wisdom. Although, I think DaVinci at least imagined submarines prior to Verne's novel. It could be possible that both DaVinci, and Verne, and possibly others conjured up mental images of submarines prior to their physical existence from a Jungian Archtypical connection to a superconscious intelligence that we all share.
