This morning on a busy express way in Toronto, a cattle truck overturned and 4 cows ended up running around a suburb. One cow had to be shot. On the news, many people interviewed said, "How sad". The cows were on their way to a slaughter house and I'm sure all who said, "How sad", had steak for dinner.

I guess dead is dead....no matter which way you look at it...a bullet or the slaughter house a few miles down the road...Maybe they all think the slaughter house is more humane...roll eyes

Well Leo... I'm sure you're going to be very disappointed in me but I am a carnivore.

I grew up on a farm where we raised our own beef, pork and chickens and am well acquainted with the entire process of raising animals for slaughter. What I am also familiar with is the animals that are killed in the raising of vegetables... mice, rabbits, hares, gophers, and deer, not to mention the land that has been taken from free range predators... wolves, mountain lions, coyotes etc in the agricultural process.

What ever way you look at it and what ever way you choose to eat, the process of raising or cultivating food for humans results in the death of animals.

I did however find your post very ironic and funny . wave

Why is cannibalism so repulsive to most people ? Humans are mammals as are cattle, pigs etc. They eat dogs in China, they also have them as pets......selective thinking.
