Date outside your town if it's not in the middle of nowhere, if you can.
I tend not to date where I live, too many people know you and talk, and what they don't know some will make up.

There should be an over the counter lie detector test that just allows you to ask the basic safety questions, such as are you attached in any way, are you insane or deranged, are you a big fat liar! Of course it could also ask how good you are at being oh so bad at the right moments!
