if politicians really believe in what they are doing to improve this world, wouldn't it be a positive thing to massively reduce their salaries and see who stays??? what do you think the percentage would be! i reckon 3% at a push!!

there are thousands of great people all over the world, voluntarily helping people, i would like to give my tax to them, rather than pumped up little mediocre politicians that are not the best people to represent ordinary folks! vote voluntary workers to be the next president/prime minister!!!

yuh, but what did they change really?

yes it's messed up, but Bono also stepped back because his band was suffering...And, he isn't exactly poor...

we see alot of causes, but most are tax write offs, and the same problems exist that did before... tell me one problem that a charity had really, and I mean really made a dent in? Jerry Lewis will be dust before anyhting ever comes of the dollar totals besides administraton fee scms...

who decides what they get paid, and where is the ombudsman in the whole scheme of things? if you have problems with your gas, electricity etc, there is an ombudsman-why not for politicians that fail our expectations??

i guess this thread has been hijacked

but hey could be good lol

the medical industry is in the business of treating the symptoms of whatever

the govt. backs the medical industry w/fda

if diseases were actually eliminated (whaich some probaply could be)then no need to treat the symptoms)

as long as medical research is in the hands of the medical profesion then cures will be few and very far between

kinda like back when the funeral homes ran the local ambulance service a we bit of conflict of interest don't ya think

that was to long

but hey what do i know

i can see what your saying about bono-maybe a publicity stunt-but he's been singing about politics for years cos it's important! structures are great if it's done for the good of all, and selfless! i think we need better representation than we have, but apathy among people just doesn't help the way forward!

i predict a riot! it would be a good idea to give maybe 4 people the job of sorting stuff out (good cop, bad cop, compassion and objectiveness) that might work and they could share the HUGE salary!

I agree completely , what once was consider a service to the country has become family business, passing the posiion on to their children or brother.
give them the same insurance we have (Social Security). outlaw gifts andvacations and those seminars on global warming being held on the beaches. those conferences they (must) attend in vegas to discuss organized crime.
I think a draft for political service would be a start.

your words have truth in them

This is the way of business, never ever eliminate a need for any of your products. even the fruit and garden produce had a longer life span. Now it grows bigger faster but once picked from the vine or garden it seems its consumability time frame has shrunk.
As for medicine...... i cannot think of last time something was cured.......medications are now designed to ease the symptoms, not cure it... and the favorite phrase these pill makers give is if we cannot recoup our rersearch cost from this pill we will not be able to reserach any new diseases...how lame is that...

lame is standard these days (i heard!) in almost everything that is done and said! the truth is in everyone, yet they choose to ignore or find another means of escapism! i am the most free person i know! (probably not for long though!)point about fruit and veg now (and animal food too!) totally manufactured, pumped up with all sorts of hormones, antibiotics, pesticides!! what's going on? if there was another life force that were aware of us, here, i bet they would be wetting their pants!! (take note my fellow venusians-this is so how we're not going to be!!)
