I just went to purchase a phone.
I am thinking that when things break down, only replace if necessary.
I was able to do a few errands and that was it.
NO running around in the car anymore wasting gas.
Just making necessary and needed trips.

Anyone else coming up with ideas for cutting costs for driving the car besides cycling and walking. Or maybe buying the much needed motorcycle to get around.

The cost for a barrell of oil hit over $140.00. and it keeps going up.

At lost to deal with it except cut out trips or buying anymore unless necessary.

And when it breaks down anything forget replacing it.

I drive my car maybe once or twice a week. Hard to get much in the way of groceries on the bike. And I'm close to the office. Gas-wise, all is pretty well...motorcycle

I'm big on ordering stuff online. I'd like to think that makes me more efficient, but the reality is I'm probably too lazy to go out and buy something...uh oh

I think a lot of folks have been cutting down - I just saw on the news recently that American consumption of gas has declined. I, unfortunately, have a 60 mile round trip commute to work - but that's all I do - when I get home, I don't make anymore trips with the car. I'm fortunate to live where I can walk or ride bike to get necessaries. Got a pull behind cart to use to get groceries, buying for one cuts down on volume of groceries, also I put in a small veg garden, so I'm relying on that for fresh stuff. Has really helped with the expense....guess my grandparents had it right - grow your own! I've also done some energy saving things that cut down on the consumption on electricity around the house - seeing a decrease in that also, and also, hopefully, conserving the environment. Looks like I'll be having a staycation here - in my garden - rather than travel, airline tickets have gotten outrageous!
