With Bollywood and Hollywood actors. Director Paul Davids. Supported by a bunch of authorities in the subject. It deals with the possibility that Jesus spent long periods of time in India before his public life (the lost years) and after escaping death in the cross.
MONSIGNOR CORRADO BALDUCCI, APOSTOLIC NUNCIO OF POPE JOHN PAUL II
“This is the first time I have ever heard about this, in spite of all my studies of theology. The public life of Jesus we know about from the evangelical books. All we know, we know from the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John – and from the 12 letters of Saint Paul and the 2 letters from Saint Peter. They comprise the New Testament—and there is nothing in them about this.”
HIS HOLINESS THE SHANKARACHARYA (Supreme Spiritual Leader of Hinduism, the “Pope” of Hinduism) :
“Many important religious figures have come here to study at the Jagannath Temple, which is now 2,500 years old here in Puri, India. Jesus Christ also came here to study. Jesus, whom we call Saint Issa, studied the Achar Samhita —the Code of Conduct. He must have met the Shankaracharya of that time. Jesus studied our teachings of Truthfulness, Mercy, Charity —Serving Others, Compassion and Ethics. The fact that Hindus made a contribution to Jesus’ learning is not accepted by some people.”
PROFESSOR ELAINE PAGELS (Princeton University Department of Religion, Author of Best Selling books including BEYOND BELIEF: THE GOSPEL OF THOMAS)
“It’s certainly possible, as some people say, that Jesus traveled to India. One can’t rule it out as a possibility, because we just don’t know. And it’s certainly a possibility that the teachings of Jesus are closer or sound closer to what we think of as Indian teachings. One can’t assume that the ancient world was a simple one. It was a very cosmopolitan one, and there was a great deal of travel.”
A Russian traveller Nicolas Notovitch stayed for quite some time with Lamas in Tibet and had their sacred books translated for him. He is of the opinion that Jesus must have come to Tibet before the crucifixion and gone back to Palestine after having imbibed Buddhistic teachings. This also is a mere statement unsupported by reliable historical evidence.
Repudiating these views, Hazrat Ahmad writes that Jesus came to India not before the event of the Cross but after it and that it was not he who borrowed Buddhistic teachings but the followers of Buddha who seem to have reproduced the entire picture of the Gospels in their books.
According to Hazrat Ahmad Jesus also visited Tibet during his travels in India in search of the lost tribes of Israel. He preached his messages to Buddhistic monks, some of whom were converted Jews. The followers of Buddha were deeply impressed by his teachings and took him to be the manifestation of Buddha and their Promised Teacher. With faith in him as their Master, they mixed his teachings with their own records and ascribed it all to the Buddha. Ample evidence in support of this is furnished from ancient Buddhistic records.
Certainly more evidence of connections between Early Christian doctrine (rejected by the official Church) and buddhism.
I may watch it if it comes my way simply to see if there is anything of a glimpse of historical evidence to be found there for this person. So far, we have only the works of Josephus to pin any actual evidence on and his works are doubted by many academics.
I like Pagels line of questioning because she has examined claims from the church of 'ultimate truth' and I have come across her name many times as a contemporary academic worthy Having said this, Im not conversant enough with her works to make any decisions at this juncture as I havent read any of her conclusions.......
I'd watch it, since I've been of this opinion for a number of years.
There's also speculation that Jesus learned of the puffer-fish "Zombie" poison in the Orient, and used it to "fake" his death and resurrection. I withold my judgement on this, as it's only speculation. But it is intriguing...

I have heard a similar version too .. . but until there is associated proof its just maybe this or that.
Apparently the story that in his earlier days in life he spent time in Tibet or the Himalayas is also true ... where he became aware of the buddhist principles.
so, let's see!! This jesus person, was in India, Tibet and also studied with the Essenes!! So how did he get to all these places?? And what did he do with his frequent flyer miles??
It seems everyone wants a piece of the action when it comes to this itinerant carpenter.
