Yep me..
I'm and organ donor.. and a bone marrow donor.. I give blood every 90 days.
I am very passionate about donation. (and argue the point a lot)
I donated the 'Cord blood' from my last baby too.
I have O Neg blood too.. the 'Purest' Blood.. LOL
It means also.. being 'universal' that I can donate to any other blood group.. (tho that is under dispute at the moment) but can only accept my own type.

alabamabebe: I don't care what they do with my body once I'm gone, I won't be needing it any more. Yes, I'm a organ donor. Told my daughter, she was kinda like ewww about it, but if there's anything there worth using, well several somebodies saved my life with 24 pints of blood several years ago, so I'm happy to give someone else the same chance.

People are happy enough to take these things tosave their own lives or the lives of their loved ones. (well unless you are Jehovah lol) ....
but people aren't always so willing to return the favour.

My children are pretty up on all the info about donoring..
and much as I would hate to think about it.. I would give the go ahead for donoring if something happened to one of my children.
If it were one of my kids that needed a 'part' .. some poor parent has to give the go ahead for that..
and I would be sooooooo grateful for that.
So I am willing to do the same.

i'm a donor- having worked in transplant for many years- i know only to well the suffering caused by lack of donors- and the wonderful life changing/saving experience it can be.
