that cigarettes in Canada are $10/pk as opposed to $3.50 in the US. Are the salaries higher in Canada to offset that? And if not, how can you afford to live there?

Cigs are expensive as a tax grab. We have a big country to keep up and only 33 million people. Then we have universal health care, expensive to maintane. Yes, the high cost of lung cancer. Paws

Makes perfect sense to me. They ought to be $10/pk everywhere! And all the money go to health care.

Manufacturing ciggarettes is a pretty lowly way to make a living IMHO.

here in ireland they are 6.34(euro) not sure what that is in dollars but I know its mainly tax..we also have great health care here compared to most countrys

The Euro is worth more than the U.S. dollar, so all things the same you're getting more.

If you converted 1000 Euro into U.S.D. today, you'd end up with 277.40 more, being 1277.40 USD.
