Men take too long. I just want to get the necessary item and leave. They have so many non-essential things to buy!
I also hate to shop. I'm a terrible consumer - I don't need or want much. I have too many interests to spend time in the mall. I have never gone clothes shopping with a man (for me or for him) -- that would not be fun for me.
Guys clothes shopping differs greatly, we go in, we grab it and pay for it, and we leave. We don't turn finding a pair of pants into a fashion show, so we greatly shave time off the expedition.
I didn't view that as being stereotypical, considering that's how most are and have admitted previously. If it is viewed as such that's not my intent, and for that I apologize.
If you are looking at the other women and what they are wearing and wondering how to compete with them as often as you look at the clothes, then it makes for a long shop session....
I kind've like shopping for my clothes and I usually get every sales lady in the store helping me. I never truly dress myself because they always figure this is their chance to dress a man the right way.
I most be one of the low percentage who actually love shopping, Oh, Oh i hate supermarkets, but i love buying clothes, Shoes. I can say i love shopping.
My wife banned me on going to the supermarket with her. She said she'd either take the kids OR me. Something about me teaching the kids to ride on the back of the carts down the aisles or playing hide and seek with them. She especially didn't like the football games.
IF IT'S NOT SPORTINGS GOODS,WIEGHTS,FIREARMS,FISHING GEAR,I'M TOTALLY OUT OF MY ELEMENT,AND WILL ADMIT IT!,JEANS,T-SHIRT,I'M GREAT,ONCE IN A WHILE WILL ANYONE SEE ME IN A SUIT,TIE'S CAN'T STAND THEM.
I'm right there with you on the 'love to shop'. There was another thread similar to this a while back. I love to pick out things for women to wear.
As far as shopping for my own clothing, I'm far from "go in, grab it, and get out..." I used to drive people nuts who tried to shop with me because I would shop for several hours then go home empty handed. I have a cataloguic memory. I can memorize an entire store's inventory. I visit every store in the area, bookmark some favorite pieces in my memory, then I return home and wait a day or more before going back and purchasing anything. I'll put entire outfits together in my head, mix and match, see what pieces could be interchanged. That way the 'desire' fades and only the 'need' kicks in.
I love movie stores on Tuesdays; everything gets shuffled. Never take me to a new movie store and expect to walk out in under an hour. :)
