My favourite restaurants are Ambrosia in Valletta and Tarragon in St Paul's Bay - both on the higher price side, and popular so you'll need to make reservations, but the food and service is always excellent.

a grotty shack in some down town part of a city, where the grub is lower down the scale than macdonalds
and its pissing down with rain outside. And they even charge you. puh
