Concentrate on learning to CLICK with your camera and stop fretting about not CLICKING with the folks in your class - they are just in transit and will walk out of your life after 9 months. So go on, you can do it!! Grind your teeth and grin coz some of them may have real good ideas that you could learn from.

I didnt walk away from it Gilly but one group I was in with were so far up their own ars*s it was really difficult for me to connect with em and I actually dreaded going in there till I found my sense of humour and started to laugh at their cliquey behaviour - once I got that in my head there was no stopping me and when they then realised I was actually taking the p out of them, they soon stopped...........

i've reached the stage in my life where i can't afford to go through any more emotional backdrafts
( what i call a backdraft is when as a wruter of filmmaker you've got an idea ..whether its your idea or somebodies elses idea but just can't go forward with it because the person or people are on a completely different wavelength ..and don't share the same imagination..so instead of going on a trip about the idea ..and start THE STREAM OF CONSOIUSNESS which is what most writers or filmmakers are all about ..you end up folding back on yourself and getting very unhappy and depressed even after you've lefted their company )!
its a writer's or filmmakers nightmare !
i spent months looking forward to doing that course ..but ended depressed because of the people on the course

Sorry to hear that Gilly what ideas did you have?. Don't forget Blade Runner was not a successful movie in the cinemas but it is now critically acclaimed. What to some people is a good movie is a bad movie to other people.
