somechick: I'll be spending Christmas eve & Christmas day serving meals to the residents at a nursing home near my home.
Good for you Anna....I'll be delivering presents to kids whose parent or parents are incarcerated. It's a feel good kin of thing, it helps to ease the pain of going through the Holiday alone.

Thank You wix. To me this is the true meaning of Christmas.
wixomwizard: Bingo....I knew there was even more beauty than was showing. I'm happy to count you as my friend.
I'm glad you do cause we can never ever have to many friends.
Wix, When I was married my husband lost acouple jobs at no fault of his own, which caused us to become homeless acouple times during our marrige. Our two sons were very little when this took place.
And we were the kind of people who thought bad things would never happen to us. Boy did we recieve a very rude awakening. To raise money to live on we had to sell all of our belongings except for the clothes on our backs and our sons toys. When that money ran out we sought help from a church group. That was a humbling experience cause we'd never had to ask for help before. But we knew we had our two sons to think of.
Well we were helped by that church orgnization which provided Christmas gifts for our two sons and provided us with a place to live until we got back on our feet. The church group also offered my husband a job which he did take as well. How we made it through it all I'll never know but we did. I guess because we stood by one another through the bad and the good times and we never gave up.
I decided after that that I was going to give back by volunteering at my sons school and helping others out there who needed it. I swore that I would never ever take anything for granted after that.
Our experience was quite a eye opener to say the least.

Sparky55: He usually drops by on the 25th of December. I'll see if I can get a good pic of him and send it over to you. Yes Claudya, there is a Santa Clause...
