Well here is how I see it.
Some people have an 'activity' partner to satisfy certain needs. Nothing else, just that and it works for some.

I know plenty of people who do this simply because they don't have time for a relationship but physical needs are almost always present. At one point I used to be one of those but over time I realized that "activities" are better with a partner that there are feelings for. A good foundation of trust/affection/lust make for much better 'activities' than just picking up someone at a bar. Or so I think anyways

I play an activity called Golf with 3 guys every Sunday Morning but I would never consider them life partners as they are not very good.
