AmberR0SE: I get it it's just seems so easy to ignore threads if you dont like them. there are so many threads why bother with ones you dont like? There are some threads I dont like but because threads dont knock on my door or make noise I dont get bothered by them. What's a bad thread for some might be entertaining for others.
My thread is not about whether I like these repeated threads...it's about being a little original and having a new thought. Instead of just repeating the same threads over and over. I did not say I did not like the threads, but was a call for something to read and respond to that wasn't something that we all had commented on many times in the very recent past.
I am sorry that as a new person, you can't see the need of something more to stimulate the mind. I, of course, do not respond or even read threads that are repetitive. But I would like to see some new thought!! Maybe after you are here for a while, you will see how repititious these things become

I can imagine if you have been here for eons then things would get old. Maybe people dont want to be original ...maybe they just want to relax and have a good time. Me personally I come to forums to relax and laugh at the funny peoples jokes and laugh at the funny looking people. I have college for mind stimulation. People are people and we have the same problems every day so thats why things are the same...in my opinion.
Then you will certainly have a good time. Congratulations....you won't have to think for yourself!!

Seems to be rampant on the net! New people to sites don't necessarily see all the old threads, but when a similar one is already current there should be no need for the same one. It's the age old (at least computer age old) problem of joing sites only to find the same topics exist everywhere. To that point the same type of reactions to duplication of threads occurs-someone gets p.o.'d and points it out! I agree, however, with us newbies we are just trying to join in sometimes. A gentle reminder is often enough.
pretzelman: If you got nothing original to say....say it somewhere else!! Damn people, why another thread about lying??? Didn't we just cover this ad naseum???
This is getting old....read the former threads before you start a new one to see when it was last covered.
Repetitive threads devalue the credibility of this site. Please come up with something interesting, or wait to post until someone else comes up with something interesting.
Doesn't it occur to anyone that there may be new comers to CS who may want to participate in the thread, and an old one, might be overlooked by them if the thread not on ????

This was not geared to "newbys". It was in reference to people who post a thread that have participated in threads on the same subject. Yes...new people may post things without checking to see if it is something new. But when people post a new thread that has been on here over and over...it just gets boring. And I am talking about people that have been on here for a while.

No, I have you to do it for me. Seeing as you are so darn smart. Btw...I did a search on your OP here. I found many other threads discussing the same thing.

I didn't post this to get into a pissing contest with you. If you don't like the thread...why not follow your own advise...and leave the thread alone???????

I like the thread and who's pissing? I just thought it ironic youd make a thread about people who make all the same threads when your thread topic has been made many times.

BTW....you seem to be the only one who feels this has been addressed several times. But...you won't have to think for yourself in those repetitious threads...so go for them!!
Hint: just hit the quote button and you won't even have to make a response!!
I tried this a few days ago, in my "...and now for something completely different thread." I gave up...now I'm boring myself with apps on myspace rather than boring myself with carbon copied threads...if you don't like the thread, there are other threads. If the site is starting to bore you, there are other sites...
