Do find that the person you are in here is the real you?

Do you think you can say everthing that you say in here in real life face to face or is it only because your with only the keypad in front of you?

if so which one of you is the real you?

because you cant say it in real life face to face are being false are you just saying what people want to hear?

There is a saying- everywhere you go, there you are.
yup, and here i am. banana

Speaking only for myself. I find that I am myself in here, in the store, at work etc...

The thing of it is though, i find folks not as receptive at the grocery as they are at work .... or maybe its the other way 'round.

I find that folks in areas of online chat seem to be open, more receptive to exercises in wit and most probably, like myself take a liking to the backspace key so we can rephrase something before posting....i may take a few minutes more to say what i want, but its still me....wonderful me
peace cheers! cheers

What I find about the forums is that I can let my fun side out to play, and even be a little bit silly. There is a safety here. But I have noticed since joining CS that I am letting my fun side out more in the 'real' world as well - and that's a good thing, innit?

Good question Buzzer....having met a few ppl in reality that I contacted online, I can safely say that what you get here is only the 2 dimensional form of the person you will (hopefully) meet- adding the personality, voice, and the other dimension makes it very different but mainly in a good way. As said already, you can correct yourself here before you press the 'send' button, but in real life it can be so different. Personally, my views here are real, and anything I say here is the same thing as I would say in reality...whatever that is!!!! banana

Personally I find I have too much time to think when replying to threads etc. Much better craic when I'm chatting in person with someone and I can't "back-space" what's just fallen outta my mouth. So if anything I'm much more reserved on-line than in person wink

Definitely it's the real me. I received what I thought was the ultimate compliment from someone I became friends with online first. After we met, he said I was exactly as I seemed here - very genuine.

It makes no sense to put on a facade if you are planning to meet people. Just like my pic is probably one of my worst with no makeup and on holiday, but if that doesn't scare someone away then the real me will be a pleasant surprise. laugh
