Pictures definitely help .... truthfully I think that most men do not read the profile (from the letters I get sometimes and the feedback that I've read from others).... so take some pictures and post them!!!
As well how many letters have you written??? One or two or are you talking 100's .... patience is a virtue ..... practice it and don't lose heart because there are lots of potential mates out there. As well don't go overboard .... just make it light and funny ... give them some compliments.... but most importantly be truthful and be yourself.

I do so read the profiles....but I gotta see a pic first. If there is nothing in the pic that compels me I am not going to answer an e-mail. That may be shallow, but that is the truth.
I gotta agree with him up there. We are a visual breed. Nothing attracts us like a nice picture.
Try to take it with a camera and not a mobile phone. It does help, and blue is not an attractive shade. This means the phone has not taken in enough light.
Try and put something personal in the mail. Just to prove that you have not written one and copied it. It shows you have taken the effort.
If I have ever recd any mail from anyone (male or female) I always return a note saying thanks for the note, however, I am either not interested or what ever.
I find it incredibly rude that people do not have the common decency to return a note, when you have taken the time and effort to write something.
... and above all just remember, we are just as committed to finding someone as you are, its just we need a little help
If you do not know how to submit a picture just ask on these threads and someone will tell you how. I had to ask and got tons of advice as there are very nice people here. That would also help to introduce yourself. People by nature are attracted first by what they see and guys being awful pigs, well, do the math. And by the way, I do read ALL of the profiles and return ALL flowers and messages NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE. To me it is a matter of politeness.
