It has got to be nice if I am replying to my own post here. However, almost end of Jan and the sales still on. So the nicest thing that happened to me today was I got 2 memory foam pillows for less than the price of one! Superb. Ah but Homebase sale over and paid full price for the paint that was 6.99 last week. Still it was a good day. Does nothing nice happen to you guys and gals in Ireland?
I woke up after a wonderful sleep feeling life really is worth living.
As we were leaving the house this morning my son who is at the age where his finger is stuck to his Xbox control in his black hole. Enter if you have a death wish, turned as he reached the front door and simply said you know I love you mum. From a boy who is very deep and private and lives for football, Xbox and emailing some girl on his lap top that one line he uttered this morning warmed my heart...a priceless gift!
Floating in to work on a high...one child was a little upset at leaving it's Mummy so I picked the child up and sat on my knee... I found myself with nineteen others around me trying to hug me.....to some they would think okay normal, nothing great in that, but to me this is a precious moment...
Now I can smell the hot scones the cook has just baked as she does for a treat every Friday morning break....mmmmm a scone, butter and jam...
The children are bouncing like monkeys on a bed and you can hear their whoops and shouts echo through the play ground....
It is Friday no more work, an off the cuff decision they can keep their coats and shoes on after break and we will all go out to play......

Today I had a customer who was in his eighties! He had tears in his eyes as I served him and I said oh matey what is the matter? He said my soul mate of 60 years passed away 2 weeks ago and we would come here together every week for a meal,Now Im lost and alone! I said oh yeah OMG mate I so remember you and your sweet, sweet wife! I went to my boss and I explained the situation and that I wanted to sit and have lunch with this beautiful soul of a man so he wouldnt be alone! I never get a lunch break but my boss seen the tears and pleading from within my eyes and he relented! Although it started off so so very sad this story.. The greatest thing I learnt is that anybody walking past us in society relates to a story of some kind! I had the best lunch date listening to an old man remenisce and speak of the greatest love of his life!

That was very nice of ya pity there is not more people like you
So far on this wet miserable day the nicest thing was a second cup of coffee.
Then I realised that there was the possibility of someone here saying something life-affirming to me. It might not happen but then it might. So that thought and the positivity that goes with it is now the nicest thing that has happened to me today.
