Do they think we are 'desperate' and therefore more inclined to answer to them? Or are they genuinely interested because they find we have more life experience and therefore we are less 'green' hence more interesting? Or could it be that we don't need our bills paying because we tend to be totally self-sufficient?

Yes I think it is because older women have life experience before,and of course they are not trouble makers at all.
Some older women also like younger guys than thierselves,I think it depends,some men like younger girls and some like older and same is for women.
But please answer them all,even if you are not in interest,the word SORRY is enough to understand for the person who is approaching you. Have a nice evening.

Interesting comments, and those that I entirely agree with. I think it could be any one of the reasons you have stated. Me, I am very suspicious if I get a young man contact me...I always think there is an ulterior motive...I think this is one of our mature safety nets. What we have already experienced gives us, (sometimes), protection.
I also know people married with a big age gap and they are perfectly happy so......

Butterfly, i fully understand why you posted this thread because it happens to me quite often that i attract much younger guys. I consider it as a problem because i'm not interested. Yes i beleive younger guys only want some fun and nothing else.
