gozoman2: Know what amazes me most Conrad.....

all the post who are actually hailing Obama as a new beginning for America are not American.....

all those who are bomb lasting the man and trying to find any manner in which to put him in bad light are American......

I really can't understand that.....

Gozo, these are exactly the biased and ignorant Americans I once wrote about in another thread and got bashed to bits by some American -sorry to say, but she is a sorry li'l bitty with no brains but a foul mouth - and who stalks me ever since and does not understand why the world is thinking of Americans the way it is, for they are sooo darn ignorant to recognize their own ignorance...

can't put it in better words than that, sorry, but I think you get my drift hug

His speech? He didnt write it. C'mon, it is no different than when Bill Clinton responded to a letter I wrote to him. Do you believe that he wrote and signed it? I do not like Obama, but that is besides the point. They all have advisors, speech writers, etc. Do you believe actors write their own scripts for each and every movie as well? Do you believe Obama manufactured the "beast" that transported him? Did he also tailor he and Michelles clothes? John Travolta could have recited the speech or any other actor, so why the big Hooray? Obama while being a good orator (obviously)how does this prove anything? We are in such a recession, and he spends in excess of 160 million for that? What costs so much? You know how 160 million could have helped those in need? Oh, I forgot he rolled up his sleeves and did some ceremonial painting in a shelter, wow? Put the money to better use. Obama will go down in the history books and he has been President for one day. For what reason? It is evident, because he is a minority, and the people feel theyre finally making headway in their stuggle for equal rights. Thats fine but be honest and play that card then. His speech is a piece of paper with text, big deal. Look at L. Ron Hubbard, a failed science fiction writer. He wrote so well he created a whole new religion, Scientology. Is he great? I'm just trying to keep it in perspective. The US jumped all over their patriotic selves when Bush dropped the first bombs on Iraq, flying American flags, being friendly, partisan line disapeared and we all had a common cause. IMO its all smoke and mirrors at the moment, and I'll wait and see if the new Prez is any better than any other before him. No matter what he does, hes a winner because histroy usually repeats itself, so the economy will get better but he will be credited for the entire thing and go down in history as the saviour. There are so many things that are incorrect in history books so why not this too?

In that case then I can only say that he is already showing much promise. He chose an infinitely more skilled speechwriter than Bush ever did and he had 8 yrs to get it right..........

I was too busy on marches against the invasion of Iraq to notice the American reaction to those bombs - sorry dunno

I'll put a light correction to this if I may....

as was stated by the CNN anchor people themselves today and as is commonly know, yes, Obama has personnel who writ his scripts....

BUT.....

it is also a well know fact that he gives the overall pattern of what he wants to say, and even after being given the scripted speech, he always goes over it personally and changes it to suit his personal taste and need.

Please do not forget that Obama is also the writer of two books which have been published well before his run for the Whiter House.

You are absolutely correct, Obamas speech writer is much better than Bushs. As far as your protests against the war in Iraq, good for you. I like it when people stand up for what they believe in whether I agree or not on the specific issue(s). I cant stomach the people who sit idly by doing nothing about their problems crying and whining instead of doing something about it. That is precisly why I wrote to Clinton and a lot of other politicians and organizations. Kudos to you.thumbs up

There is a big difference between writing the speech and punching one up. Yes he wrote two books, but did he actually write them or again was their help? A lot of books are "autobiographies" or "written by" insert name here.

I didnt imagine it would be otherwise Gozo - anybody in such a position (except maybe the outgoing Pres) would do such a thing - I would never dream of somebody writing something for me and not giving it the one over first - its only good manners and respect at the end of the day thumbs up

I have one of his books here ready to start - Dreams From My Father - looking forward to it thumbs up
