Scarey Stuff (36)

Do you have any phobia's or anything that really scares the bejesus out of you?

I am not sure that I do, there are plenty of things that i don't like but not to the point that i am totally fearsome of them.

I almost drowned twice as a child and although I don't like the water, i am not scared of it.

I don't enjoy the sight of snakes, spiders, insects etc, but i don't run a mile when I see them or try to kill them. I am cautious but not scared.

I don't like heights but i will do them.

What about you............

I hate storms.

My body tenses up, I pack a bag and leave it at the front door incase I have to leave during the night. MOst storms here happen at night so I will sleep with a lighter tucked into my jarmies or undies lol.. never know when the power will go out. Last time I didn't have a lighter handy and had a god awful time trying to find my way in the dark.


I used to love storms but since we had a cyclone here 3 years ago and my mums house was totally destroyed and scattered in the next court, my house was damaged (not much though) but the windows exploded too(which I think it where my fear comes into play) the noise of the wind and then the shatter/explosion is something I always hear when a storm is coming.

Todays temperature is currently 45degrees at the moment and it is windy outside. I can handle it during the day to a point but when it gets too bad I am outa here and at a friends I moved house though and feel much safer here but when the wind howls around the house I freak!

Chickens cant stand the farkers.

I can sympathise there Dawgz, I don't like birds in general.

Air travel...

I've been on more planes than I care to remember AND joined the RAAF (go figure) but am scared to death of flying.

I literally have to be comatose or high on valium, or both, before boarding a plane.

there is one particular round-a-bout near where I live, that I'm truly scared of. Where I live now, I very rarely have to go through it.

this was where I had my car accident...I will drive through it if I HAVE to, but I swear I look like an old grandma, I go that slow

Snakes....

I have come across too many from living out in the scrub of the mallee country in SA.

I was out the back of the house one day and spotted a brown down near the wood heap, too close to the house for my liking. So I went back inside and got the shotgun, came back outside and took aim, and....missed. How can you miss anything with a shotgun??

Leave it to me and I will show you how...

The bloody thing took an instant disliking to being shot at and headed straight for me, in a mad panic I through the damn shotty at it and bolted inside.

The snake lived to see another day and no doubt, plenty more.

So yes, snakes.... scarey stuff.
