Yea, i guess when you really think about it they are all just a bunch of pretty boys who all sound the same. The only difference is they play instruments so i have much more respect for them, than the boy bands

Me ....I think they are all just a bunch of whiners...kinda like some sappy country masked by distorted guitar riffs...and non melodic vocals...

There are still real punk bands, but they're just not well known and aren't ever in the spot light.

Check out the 'new wave' of UK indie rock, there are some really good bands coming up now. Some might have even made it across the oceans to lands far away...
Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand, Young Knives, Darkness, Arctic Monkeys, Keane, Orsun (from California but discovered in the UK)... there are a few more too.
