I think the hoedown would be new and fun. In fact we should get on that as soon as possible. Obviously the above was sarcasm, but on a serious not, here is one more Tennessean posting.
winddancer1950: Any kind of social gathering would be nice (bars are out for me, since I am allergic to cigarette smoke). But a picnic, a "meet and greet", a movie night followed by gathering at a pizza place, or some/any other function would be great. Each major city in the state should one (Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis, Nashville, Clarksville, Jackson).

Love the idea winddancer had where each major city held something...at least it is a start! Can we advertise anywhere...ie: facebook, twitter, etc?

How about in Chattanooga? It's the 4th largest city in the state and is easily accessible via interstate from the largest (Nashville) and the third largest (Knoxville). It's also a great place to visit with many venues. We could ask around the GA forums too; folk north of Atlanta might be interested. (CS's state-by-state forums really make no sense, geographically.)

Definitely a weekend Sat or Sun. Some time in Apr.? Weather will be a bit more settled and somewhat warmer. 9-10th 16-17th 23=24th Heck for me any weekend is good.
