Close to midnight

Three seconds to midnight.
Three more seconds to wait.
If someone asked me to fight,
I would not hesitate.

I fought for the justice.
I fought for the children.
I fought for the Baptists.
I fought for the pilgrims.

I sit in my silent apartment.
I sit and wait for you.
I take my moments of amusement.
And send some messages too.

There is a silent voice telling me,
someday there is peace eternal.
That day we will all be free.
It will be the day of the newborn.

Hi, Isaiah6517,
Peace is something for which we must live, not fight. In the words of Jill Jackson and to the music of Sy Miller, "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me." Thanks for sharing Close to midnight.
