MY JOURNEY HOME

MY JOURNEY HOME

When my time on earth is over I’ll climb those golden stairs
As I stand before the heaven gates and meet my Jesus there
When I hear him call my name my heart will skip a beat
I’ll fall down on my bended knees and I’ll begin to weep
I will cry with tears of joy when I gaze upon his face
And meet the man that died for me my saviour Jesus Christ

As I stand then they’re before him on my judgement day
I will ask him once again to wash my sins away
He knows I’ve been a sinner, a sinner I have been
Yet he’ll always love me throughout eternity
For he died upon the cross, so all my sins be free
He died upon that blood stained cross he died for you and me

They placed a crown of thorns upon his head that day
Nailed his hands and feet than took his life away
When they pierced his side the blood began to flow
As he wept in silence these words he did repeat

Forgive them my father my father up above
Forgive them my father for they know not what they do
Forgive them oh my father I ask of you this day
Forgive then my father and wash there sins away

When I meet my Jesus I pray he’ll take my hand
Lead me on to heaven to the promise land
Where I’ll meet the master the master of mankind
Meet the great and holy man that sits upon the throne
To see the face of God at last and know that I’m home
To see the face of god at last and know that I’m at home
