A Peaceful life

There is some pain
that will go away when we pray

But there is another kind of pain
that will go away
only when we forgive ourself
or someone else

Forgive is what we have to do
in order to heal

Only God can give us peace
so we must forgive

Forgive will take away a lot of pain
to live our life in a peaceful way

To forgive is to get rid
of all anger, hatred and bitterness
and allow the love of God
to dwell in us

About this poem:

I wrote this when I had to forgive someone and I really didn't understand 'why' my heart was still heavy. Only when I was able to release those emotions (of anger) I was able to feel 'light' and 'free'. Then I was able to truly forgive.

Hi,I tried unsuccessfully to email you re your comment on my poem.(My poem "Forgiveness" speaks the same message as your poem here,very lovely by the way).I wrote poems in high school in the blank pages of my text books but,other than one hymn I wrote around 1980,I haven't written since then until last April when the desire resurfaced out of the blue.Someone submitted a poem to the World Poetry Movement of mine (Romance Whispers To Her Heart)which was published in January in their book titled 'Stars In Our Hearts'.Shortly after joining United World Poets last summer,one of the critiques read some of my poems and told me I should publish.The poem he singled out is the same one published in that book and the publisher knew my civic address.Several people have said I "am gifted" which makes me very happy but my main objective in writing is to get a message across,not write beautiful words.
(Romantic poems are a different story,lol)This is more than you wanted to know?lol (sorry) Best wishes and God bless.

Thanks for your reply and comment (I'll have to check the mail/problem) but you are absolutely right, read Matt.25 'The Parable of the Talents' and what is the motive behind a talent, if not of pleasing God with it. He is the one who gave it to us in the first place so it's for His Glory and not for our ambition. That should be the 'only' reason regardless of money. God Bless
