In the middle of the darkness there was a quiet glow
I followed all the footsteps of those who saw it before
Many walked this way but it only seemed a few have made it back
And the closer that I was the more that sorrow filled my flask
It was a never ending journey that lead me to so alone
Beneath a different twilight far away from home
I could hear the drops of many tears falling in the distance
Silencing my own so that I will make it through this
Finally in the middle I reached to touch this quiet glow
And its calmness overwhelmed me but in return it took my soul
And as I fell down to my knees and I understood why many stayed before
So I stood back on my feet and said to death I fear no more
As I kissed death on its lips it said now be on your way
And it gave me back my soul and my night returned to day
