For some few years
myself, I set aside
withdrew from life
not one glimmer of light
total bareness of soul
one grain of sand
in vast desert lands
blown hither and tither
devastation taking over
an absolute waste of space
nothing left to give
just an empty vessel
not of any use
neither to man nor beast
tears of self pity fall
knowing I brought this about
then out of darkness
came a light, a ray
In poet's corner
I found a glimmer of hope
much more I found inspiration
saw in other's words
that alone I am not
that maybe, just maybe
I have something left to give
this I will let others judge
