The pain of letting go yes it hurts very much so Losing a love that you thought was true changes your point of view. Yet, people come and go in our life for a temporary moment to feed us that which what we need even in strife. Like shadows within the night love flickers within the candlelite As the new day dawns the feeling of cold sets in as we must let go of the embrace. Yet the passion can never be erased. Suddenly the dream is over the harsh reality sets in of our loss over the love we thought was real. As sometimes quickly it rushes in like a wave so it ebbs away just the same. All we are left with is the pain and wonder what went wrong as we ponder listening to a sad song. Letting go hurts but is all we can do for one cannot grow within the tree of life sitting in one place crying and wondering what what to do.
Yes often times the only friends we really have is regret and loneliness. They will always be our constant companions they will never leave us nor forsake us. People come and go, good and bad they are our teachers their value is measured by how well we learned our lesson.

About this poem:
This is for all who lost a would be lover or friend such as I did recently and always seem to lose many potential friends.
Welcome to poets corner. I can so relate to feeling like this poem in times of my life
"for one cannot grow within the tree of life sitting in one place crying and wondering what what to do"
Loved this line. It reminded a tree cannot grow with out water. At least the ones I have can't Sorry for your pain. May your road lead you to better pastures.
