The reflection

As the evening recedes into darkness
and starts to cloak everything in black
I sit looking out my window
until only my reflection is seen

I'm lost, broken, abandoned
my despair is overwhelming

The reflection staring back at me
sees only a fool
a man who once had everything, everything
because he had you

I talk to the shell in the window as he stares me down
," I'm sorry" I tell him
knowing these words wasted on him should have been
spoken to you

So I ask him
"can you take me away from here?
I'm dying"

Sad writeF8ed1,
A story well penned,
But make certain you look
out that same window in the morning,
There is a world of good out there !
