This is not a poem, but I just read this quote and I'm wondering how you wonderful Poets think this relates to how 'our' minds work...?
"The more you make your thoughts into your identity, the more cut off you are from the spiritual dimensions within yourself...
Defining yourself through thought is limiting yourself. When you fully accept that you don't know, you actually enter a state of peace and clarity that is closer to who you truly are than thoughts could ever be"
Any philosophy people lurking?
Thanks for your time in advance for 'your thoughts' on this
SnowCoveredMuse, I am of the mind that we are not defined by our thoughts, but the deeds precipitated by the thoughts and the heartfelt intent from such! My tranquility in my ignorance is constant, though a seeker of knowledge and truth, I know I do not know everything and will never know all, so I content myself with enhancing my strengths and strengthening my weaknesses. Robert
How true, reminds me that I always have to remind myself, That I do not know all the answers to life's questions, I have to just learn to love the questions themselves....
I work in mental Health so I can see where this quote has its purpose. It is easy for us to purely define ourselves by our thoughts especially if those thoughts are of self worth.
We decide and make who we are minds are powerful things it is best not to stay caught in our own minds or thoughts for to long as we can build ourselves a world in there in which we become lost and may not find a way out of .. I see this everyday. We can say we are unworthy we think it dwell on it , there is such a fine line before we are consumed and locked into this identity.
It's great to express and identify ourselves as poets we are expressive and passionate with beautiful spirituality. We write so others can identify with us.
It is wise to always remember to be mindful to remember our thoughts are just thoughts , they are who we are this minute not who we are forever. We are constantly growing evolving learning living.. So stay living do not stand still for to long in your thoughts as the door can close and life will move on with out you.
We are more than how our thoughts identify us .

Hi SAS,
In a way, answering how I think the quote relates to how my mind works puts me back into the very MIND that cuts me off from the spiritual dimension, within
the quote sounds very Eckhart Tolle and for me his words are beyond philosophy... they are true, pure and simple. My statement is not one of belief but of a knowing that arises from inner experience.
No disrespect at all snow, but this type of "what if" scenario would be a perfect topic to address in the blogs section. I know that if you truly want peoples opinions on such things, that would be the place to go. I would re-post this there, and im sure you will get the maximum amount of responses. Much more so than you have so far received here. It is indeed a thought provoking statement. ......

Yes....always question....where does mind come from?
It's not the answer that's important but the awareness.
