I think of all the wrong that is done in the name of freedom 90 million dead Indians Three million dead Vietnamese 600,000 dead soldiers in the Civil War 57,000 dead Vietnam War soldiers Over a million dead Iraq citizens Countless millions dead during World War I and II Stealing oil Stealing land PTSD Homeless veterans Unpunished criminal military atrocities like rape and murder Friendly fire Nameless victims Decorated soldiers Unfair justice Countless tombstones all in white

About this poem:
Just got done watching a documentary about rape in the military. 20,000 women and 20,000 men are raped while serving in the armed forces while the perpetrators go unpunished. Now we are going back into Iraq, it's all pretty sad.
candykid, thanks for your comment. Apathy is at the heart of these problems. When 20% of 20 year olds vote, and 80% of 80 year olds vote, you get politicians who know all they have to do is get reelected, and to heck with the important issues.
