Love shouldn’t hurt, it should not make me cry.
It should not bring me down or make me want to die.
Love should not be a knife, that stabs me in the heart,
It should not be the torture tool that rips me apart.

Love should be the Prism that brings color to my life,
It should be the sword that kills all my strife.
Love should be the miracle that fills my heart with joy,
It should be all the happiness that life does deploy.

Love should not be the pain that rushes in my blood.
It should not bring on horrid thoughts that I am thinking of.
Love should not put out all the emotions I set afire,
It should not take away all that my heart desires.

Love should be the greatest feeling I feel deep inside,
It should be the ultimate of all roller coaster rides.
Love should be you holding me with strong arms,
It should be both of us giving up all our charms.

Love should be love that wraps around our souls,
It should be the comfort that warms and consoles.
Love should be me and you together forever more,
Taking on the future and whatever it has in store.
