love after love

love after love

the time will come
when with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door
in your own mirror
and each will smile
at the others welcome

and say. sit here.eat
you will love again
the stranger who was your self
give wine.give bread.
give back your heart
to itself.
to the stranger who has loved you

all your life. whom you ignored
for another. who knows you by heart.
take down the love letters
from the bookshelf

the photographs
the desperate notes
peel your own image from the mirror
sit. feast on your life

this poem is so true when we seem to forget the person we are and we do have to love ourself first before anyone els can. I do also believe that the love of jesus can fill our heart if only we ask in my lonley hours over the years god filled that big empty space the pain in my heart the loss of a love can be so devistating. only the love of god could and has filled this for me. i know we do stumble in life and well we have to get back up again. dust ourselves down and carry on to the next day. one day at a time and well small baby steps at first because we donot want to feel that pain again.we are all just learning though life and it takes time to know who we are and what we want in life. love is the greatest gift of all.i am sure you will find itwith the perfect partner.look after yourself bye for now
