Personally, I want them to feel comfortable for a first meeting.

a44dreamer: How soon do you meet someone after connecting with them online, have you found a better relationship was formed by chatting to them for some time before meeting or the quick meeting approach worked for you, no use hanging about.
I think within the month otherwise one or the other may begin to think hey! is this person for real
What is the point to keep on chatting when it is possible to meet in RL over a coffee and chat, how are you suppose to know otherwise if this person is compatiable.

Well, it honestly depends on the potential couple with me.I found someone but, we're far though.
But, I defiantly do plan on meeting him so I'm crosing my fingers that I get this job so I can meet him and hopefully make things work between us.

Personally 2-6 weeks if there is no issue with distance and money. I do not honestly believe in very long chit chat online if it is possible to meet up because there are times when written words do not translate to chemistry.
Yet in saying that, if the other person is real and worth waiting for, then it's really up to the people involved how long they are prepared to wait.

It would depend how much financial investment/effort I would need to meet up ...
If it requires getting on a plane or driving for miles, I would want to make sure we are compatible at least "on paper" by chatting on line for as long as possible ... What's the point in meeting if it turns out we don't match mind/spiritual wise ...
On the other hand, if he's local meeting up for a coffee/drink quite soon sounds like a good idea ...

It took me 4 months to meet my husband from North Carolina..We met here dec 2007 of nov..and he wanted to meet that month..
It was to soon for me as i had 2 boys to think about and i havent dated for a very very long time..So everything was new for me again..
Things were rough becos he wanted to meet sooner but not me..thank god he was patient...
But i think its up to the indivudual..and if you think its to soon then it probably is..
Go with ur gut feeling and dont be rushed into...

We chat on skype most days send mail to each other and wait for the opportunity to see each other again. Both our situations are such that we are unable to re-locate at the moment however plans are in place for one of us to free ourselves of our commitments and move to be with the other. In the meantime our feelings deepen daily cementing the bond between us.
