Kaybee50: So, I have a friend of a friend of a friend....she was meeting a man this evening for the first time for a dinner date. They have exchanged a few emails, some text messages, light-hearted conversation. Seems they were both looking forward to meeting one another this evening.

When he confirmed the time and meeting place this evening, he mentioned he was a bit nervous. To put him at ease, she made a joke that he shouldn't be at all concerned...that he would recognize her from her buck teeth, unfortunate nose on the tip of her nose, and bald head (from ripping out her hair from such a stressful work day), and won the title of "Miss Sasquatch" for 2 years running now.

His response was that he bets I she has a "hot Sasquatch".

She responded that her anticipation of the evening just dropped, he said he was "just trying to be funny", and that she in fact encouraged by her banter.

She has canceled the date.

Did she over-react?

Here's a whole nother reaction, this is what we used to call putting your business out in the street. Where I'm from women might do what you did and cancel...but a couple days later rest assured a guy would see a "where did you get off letter" and lord knows walk on eggshells around his sweeties mama and sister,at most best friend.I think the only overreaction you havin is this poll.

Kaybee50: Closing out this chapter. The date did not happen. I didn't hear from him until this afternoon, and that was only after 2 attempts on my part to confirm if we were on or not. He did email a response this afternoon indicating he had been going back and forth whether to meet, and more or less left the decision up to me.

I decided not to meet...lack of simple courtesy tipped the scales.

Thank you everyone for your advice and feedback. If by sharing my personal adventures helps anyone, or gives you a different perspective you hadn't considered, then I am a happy girl.

In that case i take it alll back then sorry for my two cents should got here sooner if it wouldve made a difference

Sounds to me like you followed your gut feelings. Not that my opinion matters but I think you did best for yourself, and that is a good thing.
