Yes John. You are right. All other nationalities are filled with 100% untruthful populations...(sigh)....hence the expression - "We don't take kindly to strangers..."

In fact, the truth is as ellusive an idea as reality.
There is no one real truth (or reality). All things which appear to happen are a manifestation of perception and each individual perceives things somewhere between slightly and very differently. So by definition, history is really only one perception of what really happenned and no-one can ever know the full facts.

There is foundation for this in science (Heisenberg's uncertainty principle and Schrodingers famous cat paradox) and also from findings of studies surrounding evidence from eyewitnesses in police investigations.

I also find it interesting how the 'truth' is considered differently by differing cultures. In Thailand for example, the truth isn't really given much value. What is given value is your effort towards making people feel ok, comfortable and welcome. Thus when you make an enquiry about virtually anything, a Thai person will ordinarily tell you what he or she thinks you want to hear to make you feel ok and not what he or she might perceive to be the truth.

As a Westerner, this is one of the hardest things to get your head around as we place a lot of stock in the absolute nature of 'the truth' and most people think there is only one version of it. This is illusory. Multiple realities exist at any one time due to the fact that multiple people can observe and report their findings.
If only one person were alive to observe then perhaps (and only perhaps) would there then be one absolute truth.

Eventually, I ended up liking the Thai system as you realise that they simply care more about your emotional state than any notional concept of the facts.
