Well ... I have met people off here as friends and still great friends and only one person as in a date and we have been friends and seeing each other for 2 years now.
Did we tell anyone we met online first ... hell yes, why not ...lol
If you are embarassed to tell people you are on a dating site then I think personally thats sad. There is no taboo surrounding internet dating now.
I have friends that have met others on dating sites also ... some have worked and some havent ... but its a lot more common than people think.
