Religion, is by far, a most personal choice that a person must make. What they believe and why they believe, they should be able to answer for themselves. To follow any religion blindly is like stepping off of a high cliff...the more you fall, the more you lose yourself.
Is any one religion right? That is for the individual to decide, whatever religion they choose, if any.
It should always be best to question everything about any religion that one follows. Get answers to satisfy the self.

If you do want to return to your ex, I would suggest that you resolve the issues of the past before you try to move forward again, otherwise you will repeat the breakup
To be honest to the point of being brutal may become a necessity at times due to the refusal of the other to accept the truth about things when they are presented in a tactful way. I think though that these instances are few and far between as they tend to decimate relationships. Generally though, it is not a wise choice to make as you receive what you give.
