I don't think so. Solar flares increase regularly by the dynamics of the Sun.

The temperature increases during the day and descends in the night. And in the summer the solar radiation is more direct than in the winter. Isn't it regular?

This November 13th/14th the North American Utility Reliability Corporation is in charge of planning an exercise which is called Grid Ex-II.

It's about a possible blackout caused by natural forces or cyber attacks.

It can be very disturbing for the earthies who depend of the electric supply and telecomunications. Specially if they live in high latitudes.

The rest only would suffer the consequences of a gamma-ray exposition, if such thing happens. But it's better to be optimists than to worry about rare scientific theories.
