I think it's possible to find love online, but it all depends on what kind of people you get in touch with and also your own attitude.

You can find a start, may be two, or a lot of starts....which can last ... a couple of mails ...
Because for the most people the "flesh & bones" view is determinant, a phisical contact is required. Due to practical reasons even if the data base is huge the probability to find someone is proportional to the number of people wich live 50-100 miles around your location and are registered here.
Using a corretion factor which depends on ones way of living or body aspect, propablity decrease significant.
So if one realy want to find someone here should have time enough, from 1 year to eternity. Always are exceptions. But exceptions means perhaps 0.01 %. 1000000 registered, may be that 100 members find their partner. And I am sure that if this happens, it happens very fast, in 1-2 days, maximum one month. The other are here for having fun.
