Don't have depression can't really comment but would be depressed if I was on a stag weekend or football weekend away with all the alcohol I would consume .l did actually go to my gp a few years ago and ask him for medication and refuse to give me them anti stress tablets and told me to cut down on cigs and alcohol and get some exercise im delighted now I took his advice but I was out of work great doctor he was to refuse me medication taking the easy way out of life. But some people are chemically imbalance d im sure they need the proper assistance to get balance in their lives but for others who run to their gp for every little problem need to toughen up and get with the programme
Alcohol is a depressant drug, if i consume alcohol i will have a high, the day/s after i can feel depressed but that varies, if it was a great night out then i wouldn't be anyway depressed, i think it affects everyone the same.
Not enough options in the poll, it sounds like i'm been asked have i ever been depressed, as in have i been suitable for hospital and counselling type depressed, no, never been that bad thankfully.
My advice to people who do suffer from depression would be to stay the hell away from alcohol because your just adding fuel to the fire

A bartender is just a pharmacist with a limited inventory.
No I have never been depressed and can't stand miserable whingers complaining that they suffer from depression.
Send them out to Africa and make them walk ten miles in their bare feet to get toxic water from a filthy well, watch your children dying from starvation, or your friends and family killed and maimed by land mines, and then tell me they have something to complain about.
People going on about how hard they have it should just pull themselves together, and be thankful for the easy comfortable lives they have.

yep tis good to look on the bright side and count the blessings. a bit of appreciation goes a long way to realise how well off and lucky one is by comparisons to worse stuff out there. it might help just for whinger types.
but of course if a person was genuinely depressed it wouldnt matter where u send them , esp to worse conditions as they would still be depressed.
its kinda like cutting off someones leg with a rusty saw and saying sure some people have both legs cut off so dont be complaining about your pain. it not gonna stop their suffering by knowing someone elase is even worse off than themselves.
biological type depression cannot be overcome by the power of thought alone. some chemicles/ imbalancing/ and wireing is more powerfull. thats why the chemicles in the antidepressant type drug can help. positive thinking is no match or cure for it on its own.
its just turbulence metaphorically speaking even ba from the a team didn't like getting high, alot of folk that r 2 down 2 'earth' have it and understand it as something else ! oh what a flock said the sheepdog to the wolf as the shepard started to
