MrMetalPA: ....if you eat a proper balanced diet there is no need for them
A good diet maintains your health when you're young but when you get older your body needs more calcium due to bone loss. I also take Vitamin E for certain things.

Even though my cooking and eating is on the healthful side I do take some vitamins and supplements. All of them recommended by my doctors (gynaecologist, dermatologist and cardiologist):
Vitamin A, E Biotin Collagen with keratin Fish oil
I do not take calcium because my diet is rich in calcium. In my last Bone-density-test I got the good content result. Neither do I take vitamin C yet because in my diet the fresh citrus fruits are included along with other fruits rich in vitamin C.
A good approach to asses the condition of a body is to get the tests and studies needed and from them take decisions on what to take or not take as supplements and vitamins.
“However a good starting point is to asses your health-risk before with two indicators:
1) Waist circumference (the distance around your waist is used to assess general health risk)
2) Body mass index (BMI) gives you an idea of how healthy you are based on your body weight in relation to your height. Used together, these two tools give the best idea of your overall health risk.”
